US Tariffs - August 2025
Important notice: New US tariff rules for postal shipments – Effective 29th August 2025
Update 29/09/2025
We can now ship to the US, please contact us for a custom invoice and quotation. You won't be able to checkout on our store but we can do this by a custom invoice via shopify whilst we work out a solution to enable postage at checkout.
UPDATE 17/09/2025:
Australia Post have advised us that shipping should resume on the 25th of September. Unfortunately we do not yet know the additional fees other than the expected 10% tariff. There maybe an additional charge for tariff processing passed on from Australia Post.
On 22nd August 2025: Australia Post and Sendle have temporarily suspended all shipments to the United States from Australia due to the result of a new tariff regime.
Summary of new Tariff from 29th August 2025:
- Tariff of 10% will be applied and paid prior to arriving in the US. (Goods with Australia as the country of origin are subject to a 10% tariff). This may require you to pay an additional 10% for orders placed.
- Handling Fees are to be expected from Postage carriers and couriers in Australia to accommodate this. TBC
- Duties are to be collected prior to arriving in the US. However US Customs & Border Protection has not yet advised on the preferred method for duty and tax collection. TBC.
- Suspension of minimum threshold for low value goods has been removed.
- Value of Goods in your customs declaration and the manifest must be accurate for each item in the parcel.
On 22nd August 2025: Australia Post suspend all shipments to US, and return to sender any shipments that have not yet left the country.

We are awaiting more information from Australia Post, and Sendle which are our two options for sending parcels to the US. Both carriers have suspended all shipments until further notice. This is a global situation impacting many carriers shipping to the United States.
It is likely a new service will be available by couriers for these payments to be made as part of future shipping quotes. We hope Shopify will also integrate these new changes for easier calculations at checkout for US Customers.
We expect this to be temporary and we can hold your order if you wish, however if you would like your order cancelled please contact us. Please ensure you check any spam for important notifications form us about your delivery.
It’s a developing situation, we’ll keep you posted once we know more.
